Inspiration day: New resources, New opportunities
On 29 November 2019 Flanders' Food organized the 3rd inspiration day. This time, we wanted to reflect on the raw materials that are an essential part of our food.

The hot weather in the summer of 2019 was a good reminder that our agricultural products are not always so obvious. Do we have a back-up plan if the harvests fail? Can we create fully circular ecosystems? And what solutions does science have to offer? Through a series of lectures, interactive workshops and posters we made the audience think about the challenges that we will face in the coming years, but also about the solutions that progress has to offer.
The event was organised back-to-back with the mid-term meeting of the European SUSFOOD2 (ERA-NET) project, and supported by EIT Food. Thanks to these collaborations, the audience was also introduced to what is going on in the research world around these themes, as well as to some of the ideas of start-ups and students who have started working on them.
